Florence native, actor lands recurring roles in pair of streaming series

Florence native and College of Charleston theatre graduate Baker Powell recently landed recurring roles on two streaming series.

He plays Officer Ray Killian on STARZ’s “Power: Origins” and Jason in Season 2 of Prime Video’s “Scarpetta.” He also appears in Season 5 of Apple TV+’s The Morning Show.

Powell grew up in Florence and discovered acting at the College of Charleston, where majored in theatre. He went on to train in Los Angeles with Leigh Kilton Smith and Alex Taylor. His credits include NCIS, The Madison, L.A.’s Finest, and Netflix’s Dolemite Is My Name.

Premiere dates for “Power: Origins” and “Scarpetta” have not been announced.
