South Carolina Ballet seeks a highly organized, resourceful, and collaborative Project Manager. This position plays a vital role in coordinating the many moving pieces that support our performances, including special events, merchandise sales, volunteers, and engagement efforts.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with the Marketing Director to execute campaign details, promotional initiatives, and audience engagement efforts
• Collaborate with the Membership Director to plan and produce special events that enhance patron experience and community connections
• Support the Chief Development Officer in advancing fundraising initiatives and donor relations
• Coordinate with volunteers to manage merchandise sales
• Oversee project timelines, track progress across departments, and ensure seamless coordination from concept through execution
• Respond proactively to changing priorities, adjusting workflows while maintaining attention to detail clarity, organization, and forward momentum

Qualifications

• Experience in project management, special events, marketing, or related fields.
• Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with a proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Comfort working in a high-energy, fast-paced environment where adaptability and problem-solving are essential
• Outstanding written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
• Proficiency with Excel, Outlook, and Word. Well versed in Adobe Creative Suite, with competency in Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign

Administrative Assistant/Tour Manager

South Carolina Ballet seeks a highly skilled person for the position of Administrative Assistant/Tour Manager. This is a key administrative role within one of the region’s leading professional ballet companies. This position is integral to the realization of the organization’s artistic vision, ensuring that the complex daily operations of a professional dance company are executed with precision, discipline, and excellence.

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer & Artistic Director, the Administrative Assistant/Tour Manager serves as a trusted collaborator to the artistic staff, responsible for coordinating all aspects of company activities, from rehearsal scheduling to managing touring logistics, within a fast-paced, high-performance environment where adaptability and exceptional organizational skills and attention to details are essential.

Position Overview

The Administrative Assistant/Tour Manager oversees the day-to-day logistics of the professional dance company, maintaining alignment between artistic priorities and logistical execution. This individual must have highly developed organizational skills, and possess the ability to anticipate needs, manage shifting priorities, and maintain continuity across multiple simultaneous initiatives.

Core Responsibilities

• Partner closely with the CEO & Artistic Director and other members of the artistic staff to develop, manage, and continuously refine daily and long-range company schedules
• Serve as principal liaison between the Artistic Director and the company of dance artists, ensuring clarity, consistency, and professionalism in all communications
• Indirectly supervise and support a company of 30+ professional artists across rehearsals, performances, and touring activities
• Maintain an active presence at all performances, both locally and on tour, ensuring operational readiness and artistic support. Weekends and some overnight travel is required
• Maintain a digital master calendar of all rehearsals, appearances and performances throughout performance seasons
• Lead backstage and on-site operations at all venues, upholding the highest standards of organization and planning under performance conditions
• Coordinate the integration, supervision, and welfare of student and community participants engaged as guest performers
• Manage all venue logistics, including dressing room assignments, rehearsal space coordination, and scheduling
• Oversee the preparation and coordination of contracts professional dance artists, venues, guest artists, and fee-for-service engagements in collaboration with executive and financial leadership
• Manage all travel, accommodations, and per diem logistics for touring engagements

Qualification and Skills

• Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) with the ability to manage complex scheduling and communications systems
• Experience with performing arts management platforms, including Propared, strongly preferred
• Experience with Slack used for communications within company artists and staff
• High level of technical competency, including device management, digital asset organization, and music editing/playback preparation for studio and stage use
• Ability to design and maintain systems that support clarity, efficiency, and accountability across departments
• Prior administrative experience preferred
• Ability to indirectly supervise and lead large groups (30+ artists and personnel) with diplomacy, tact, and respect
• Exceptional organizational acumen and time management skills, with uncompromising attention to detail
• Superior written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to thrive in a high-demand environment requiring flexibility, discretion, and rapid problem-solving
• Collaborative, solutions-oriented approach with the ability to engage effectively with artists, senior leadership, board members, and community stakeholders
