Hub Quick Hits: Resources for rural arts centers

USDA hosting webinar tomorrow

Investing in local arts

(Looks around sheepishly, clears throat…)

Heh heh, so, um, Happy New Year! The Hub got word that the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is inviting rural leaders to join a webinar (clears throat again) tomorrow, Wednesday, Jan. 8 at 10 a.m. ET to learn about resources to invest in local arts and community centers, which are key to enhancing economic growth and quality of life in rural areas.

USDA Rural Development offers programs and services to build, expand and improve community-based businesses, including movie theaters and performing arts venues.

During the webinar, program staff will:

  • Discuss how funding can upgrade equipment, install renewable energy systems, finance expansions and more.
  • Preview a new resource guide that will help people better navigate these programs. USDA expects to make the guide publicly available in the coming weeks.

Register for the Zoom-based webinar.
