Arts Advocacy Week 2026: Day Five

Ed. note: Welcome to Arts Advocacy Week in South Carolina, as organized by the South Carolina Arts Alliance. The Hub will be amplifying messages from the SCAA, our partner, as they highlight the different ways that the arts help build a stronger South Carolina. As a state agency, the South Carolina Arts Commission does not engage in or promote or encourage specific advocacy efforts, including and especially those pertaining to the SCAC, but we do provide public information related to our work, budget requests to the executive and legislative branches of state government, and general issues affecting arts and creativity in our state. The following information falls into the “public information” and “general issues” categories.
It’s our last day of Arts Advocacy Week, and we’re so grateful that you’ve been a part of it.
We hope you will join us in the spirit of gratitude as we wrap up the week!

From the SCAA Executive Director
Thank you for joining us!
The goals of this week were simple: Provide resources for grassroots advocacy, celebrate the work of South Carolina’s creative sector, and inform as many folks as possible about the impact of public funding for arts and arts education.
We’re so lucky to have such an incredible network of advocates. Whether you joined us virtually or in person, the actions everyone took this week played an important part in raising awareness and broadening public support in our State.
An extra thank you to those who engaged with your local elected officials, or joined us in Columbia to meet with legislators and celebrate the amazing impact of the arts in our state.
You each make a difference every day, and for that we are truly grateful.
