African American art exhibition makes call for art

Beyond Time, coming to Park Circle Gallery in 2025

SUBMISSION DEADLINE: Saturday, November 30, 2024

Austin Reynolds and KELA are curating an exhibition highlighting African American artists throughout South Carolina to showcase your creations in Charleston. This call for art is open for 2D and 3D pieces, including time-based art.

The deadline for submission is Saturday, November 30, 2024. Make submissions with this link.

The title and theme of this show is Beyond Time:

Unlock your vision to that which does not yet exist. Reflect on your personal and cultural phases, regional influences, and object symbolisms that shape your various artistic practices and perceptions. Consider all you have endured, what you expect to face going forward, and how this moves you into an intentional future. Imagine a time when the only limit is your imagination towards legacy. Every artist’s vision is a lens through which the world is interpreted. How has any season of your life influenced your creative journey? What influences your view?

Catch Beyond Time on exhibit for the full month of February 2025, in celebration of Black History Month, at the Park Circle Community Building (4800 Park Circle, North Charleston).

If you have come across this submission, and know other Black artists, please encourage our fellows to submit as we are excited about the representation of our people. We are organizing this exhibition to showcase the diverse talents of Black artists in South Carolina, providing a platform for their voices to be heard and artwork to be celebrated.
