The staff of three works with numerous volunteers to support both the American Institute of Architects South Carolina Chapter (AIA SC) as well as the South Carolina Architectural Foundation (SCAF).

AIA South Carolina offers a variety of services to our members: continuing education, leadership development, knowledge networks, government advocacy, collaborations with the design and construction industries, and student and public outreach. We hold several annual events (Annual Meeting, Design Awards, Resilience By Design + COTE Conference, AAH (Academy of Architecture for Health), Aspire, as well as monthly educational focused events.

South Carolina Architectural Foundation is launching an exciting array of programs that advance public awareness of the power of architecture, planning and design.

Who You Are

(MEMBERSHIP) Someone who enjoys engaging others and can support and enhance the value of their professional membership with AIA SC.

(COMMUNICATIONS) Finds excitement in creating different modes of communication to members and allies to convey pertinent information (e-news, magazines, social media etc).

(PROGRAM / EVENTS) Thrives on creating unique and quality events, including educational seminars, community events and conferences.

Additionally

• Experience with non-profit organizational and administrative best practices.
• Ability to recruit and engage volunteers and members.
• Excellent communication skills (oral, written, electronic).
• Familiar with basic marketing concepts, website management & content creation.
• Experience with social media and website analytics.
• Understanding of educational praxis, K-12 SC curriculums, sourcing student workshops, events, and educators, basic gallery skills, curating/installation/display, and facility operations.
• Entry level graphic design.

The Position

As a small non-profit, we all contribute to administrative duties as well as the ones defined by our positions. You must be willing and able to perform multiple duties when needed. Specifically, the Membership & Programs Manager will be responsible for the following:

• Membership campaigns.
• Member / Committee support and communications (i.e. surveys, flyers, annual report).
• Website management.
• Social media management.
• Gallery oversight and management.
• Event planning & support.
• Contract document administration.
• AMS/CMS management (experience with Salesforce a plus!).
• Working with a variety of committees (Equity & Engagement, Communications as well as the Marketing & Program Committees with SCAF).
• Administrative duties & general office management.
