Museum of York County
The Museum of York County highlights the natural history of the Carolina Piedmont and its connections to the rest of the world. The Naturalist Center with over 2,000 natural history specimens provides hands-on opportunities for self-guided discovery and educational programs. The Settlemyre Planetarium features the only full-dome digital planetarium in the Charlotte Metro area. The Vernon Grant Gallery features changing exhibits in visual art and highlights the work of Vernon Grant, an illustrator who garnered international fame as the creator of Kellogg’s “Snap, Crackle, and Pop.” Grant settled in Rock Hill and is the inspiration for the museum’s Tot Town, Main Street Children’s Museum, and Rock Hill’s award-winning festival “Christmasville.”
