South Carolina Artisans Center invites artists to apply for membership

The South Carolina Artisans Center’s annual juried process for accepting new artists is now open. Artists who are legal residents of South Carolina and 18 years or older may apply. Applications are encouraged only from those artists who want to actively market their work and can provide adequate inventory for sale at the Artisans Center. Entries will be accepted until Aug. 24, 2013.

Artists must submit digital images of five different works. Out-of-state judges evaluate the work based on creativity, originality, quality of work, suitability and sales potential. Works that receive high scores advance to the second stage of the process, and selected artists must submit actual works for review by a jury of South Carolina arts experts. Artists approved after the review are admitted to guild membership after paying a $50 yearly membership fee.

Visit the Artisan Center’s website for complete eligibility and submission guidelines. Email laurens@scartisanscenter.com or call (843) 549-0011 for more information.
