Carolina’s Got Art! exhibition offers $15,000 in prizes
Carolina’s Got Art! invites amateur and professional artists in South Carolina and North Carolina to enter its 2013 juried shows scheduled for May and June at the Elder Gallery in Charlotte, N.C. Fashioned after the Springs Mills shows of the 1970s and 1980s, the exhibitions include more than $15,000 in cash and prizes. The entry deadline is March 15, 2013.
Works chosen for the show(s) can be dropped off at various intake locations in South Carolina and North Carolina rather than being delivered to Charlotte.
Lance Esplund will serve as juror for the competition. Esplund is U.S. art critic for Muse, the arts and leisure section of Bloomberg News. Previously, he was a columnist for The Wall Street Journal, chief art critic for The New York Sun and served as editorial board member and New York correspondent for Modern Painters Magazine. He has contributed to numerous publications, including Art & Antiques, Art in America, Harper’s, The New Criterion and The New Republic.
