Call for art – Shelter: Crafting a Safe Home

scc-exteriorThe Society for Contemporary Craft in Pittsburgh is seeking artists whose work reflects an interest in topics related to home, shelter, homelessness, and displacement. Shelter: Crafting a Safe Home will convey personal stories and experiences to demonstrate the impact displacement has on individuals and society and how the arts can guide thoughtful conversation on the topic.

The exhibition will highlight a variety of techniques and forms that include innovative art expressions rooted in traditional craft materials (clay, fiber, glass, metal, wood, and found objects).  The exhibition will run September 8, 2017 to February 17, 2018.

All submissions must be received by December 1, 2016.
