Beginner’s grant writing workshop offered in Charleston
The Charleston Association of Grant Professionals and Charleston Southern University present “Bone Up on the Basics – A Beginner’s Grant Writing Workshop” on May 29 from 1 – 4 p.m. Workshop speaker Dr. Linda Karges-Bone is the author of “The Guide to Grants,” “Grant Writing for Teachers,” and “The Grant Writer’s Guide.”
Workshop topics:
- The components of a grant proposal
- How to avoid the 10 common mistakes in grant design
- Do’s and don’ts of grant writing
- Finding the right match for your project or organization
Participants are invited to bring a lunch and network with other grant writers at noon, prior to the workshop. The workshop takes place at Charleston Southern University, 9200 University Blvd., North Charleston (Gold Room Strom Thurmond Center).
Registration is $40 for Charleston Association of Grant Professionals members and $50 for non-members. The fee includes a book and materials.

The mission of the Charleston Association of Grant Professionals is to assist and strengthen nonprofit, governmental, and community service organizations by providing opportunities for grant-related training, networking, mentoring and collaboration.
