Native American Studies Center Hosts Contemporary Artist-in-Residence Alex Osborn

The Native American Studies Center at the University of South Carolina Lancaster hosts Contemporary Artist-in-Residence Alex Osborn, for demonstrations and curator talks live via Facebook or Zoom. Osborn demonstrates his work with photography, digital collage, and drawing, creating an evolving art installation. June 3-19 and July 8-10 & 29-31, he’ll cover a range of topics in his presentations, including traditional Catawba artforms, artistic mediums he works with, identity through art, cultural documentation, and contemporary art in Catawba and Native American culture today. August 12, 27, & 28 feature curator talks and demonstrations for Osborn’s mural installations. Sessions are Thursdays & Fridays from 6 to 8 p.m., and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This work is supported by a RISE grant from the Office of the Vice President for Research at the University of South Carolina.
