Lessons & Carols at St. Martin’s in Columbia

Lessons and Carols is a special worship service traditionally celebrated on or near Christmas Eve. The story of the fall of humanity, the promise of the Messiah, and the birth of Jesus is told in nine short Bible readings or lessons from Genesis, the prophetic books, and the Gospels, interspersed with the singing of Christmas carols, hymns, and choir anthems. Our Lessons & Carols is based on the service held each year at King’s College Chapel and features music from all of our music ensembles at St. Martin’s, along with special guest musicians. Sunday, December 15, at 5 p.m.
