Jennifer York’s Thunder and Wonder + 2025 FMU Student Juried Art Show
Francis Marion University’s Gately Gallery presents Thunder and Wonder, a solo exhibition by Charleston-based artist Jennifer York, on view October 21–December 5, 2025. Known for her large-scale papercuts and intricate dioramas crafted from vintage suitcases and mirrors, York explores memory, myth, and recovery through richly layered storytelling.
A joint reception will be held on October 21 at 5:30 p.m., celebrating both Thunder and Wonder and the 2025 FMU Student Juried Art Show, juried by York herself. She will also give an Artist Talk on November 19 at 6 p.m.
York blends observation and imagination in works inspired by travel and her coastal surroundings. Thunder and Wonder invites viewers into her luminous world of paper, line, and light—where beauty and storytelling intertwine.
