Gallery Exhibitions: Dogs Interrupted & Hollywood Secrets

Aiken Center for the Arts presents simultaneous exhibitions at the Aiken Artist Guild Gallery. The Main Gallery features “Dogs Interrupted” by Heather LaHaise. The Columbia artist’s work is influenced by the urban landscape and how dogs are often a part of city life. Her compositions combine abstraction and realism. Layers of color and graphic spaces with dripping paint are the backdrop for her dogs. She strives to transcend the singular category of dog art. Upstairs in the Brooks Gallery is “Hollywood Secrets,” curated from the memorabilia of Casey Maxwell Clair and Christopher Beaumont, who grew up in Hollywood. The exhibitions run October 21-December 3, with an opening day reception from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
