Freeman Sundays @3
University of South Carolina School of Music presents a Freeman Sunday Concert September 10 at 3 p.m. in the School of Music Recital Hall. This concert series features USC’s music faculty in fresh and vibrant chamber music programs that pair canonic masterpieces alongside brand new works. The program includes Igor Stravinsky’s “I burn, I freeze” from The Rake’s Progress; John Adams’ “News, News” from Nixon in China; and Albert Hay Malotte’s “A Great Lament” with Donald Gray, baritone and Sharon Rattray, piano. Ari Streisfeld, violin, and Greg Stuart, percussion, perform selections from “Dirt Road” by Linda Catlin Smith. Rebecca Nagel, oboe; Joseph Eller, clarinet; Michael Harley, bassoon; JD Shaw, horn; and Phillip Bush, piano perform Mozart’s Quintet in E-flat Major . Tickets $5- $15.
