CultivateSciArt Happy Hour – Soil Saviors & Ebru
CULTIVATE SciArt is hosting a Happy Hour, “Soil Saviors & Ebru,” which combines a brief science presentation, art creation, and community conversations, with a chance to enjoy a bite and beverage. Local artist Marielena Martinez will lead a “Painting on Water” segment on the artistic method of Ebru, floating paints in water and wicking pictures out onto paper. Participants can learn about, create, and take home original art; no experience required. Dr. Florence Anoruo, South Carolina State University Plant Physiologist & Environmental Biologist will lead “Soil Saviors: Using Plants to Pull Pollutants Out of Our Land.” The event will take place at Rutledge Cab Co. in Charleston, January 28th. Free parking. This is meant to be a fun, informal, community event for adults & youths. Drop-ins welcome, but advance tickets will help you avoid lines and help organizers plan.
