Creating a Motanka Doll

Historians state that Motanka dolls appeared in Ukraine several thousand years ago. They are symbols of authenticity and feminine wisdom. The use of a needle is forbidden when making the Motanka. Only fabric folding and thread reeling are allowed for this Ukrainian national art form. This workshop is at the Columbia Art Center Saturday, October 8, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Registration deadline October 1.
