Concurrent Solo Exhibits – Christine D. Johnson and Christopher Kyle
Christine D. Johnson of Summerville, SC, presents The Strength Within, featuring mixed media acrylic paintings and collages from her Contemplation series. A native of Jamaica, Johnson’s artwork is directly inspired by the people of her home country, who value utilizing one’s natural talent to fulfill their purpose in life. Her work functions as meditations on faces that represent resiliency, strength, and authenticity. Christopher Kyle of Goose Creek, SC, presents Shattering the Stereotype, his first solo exhibit. Kyle focuses on hyper realistic charcoal & graphite drawings of black women. His detailed drawings incorporate bright Prismacolor elements, carefully highlighting the women’s clothing and accessories.
