Columbia Baroque’s YouTube channel will host a free online concert, “Corelli Comes to France,” November 5 at 7 p.m. It’s a celebration of the great Italian violinist and composer, Arcangelo Corelli, whose music was so popular in Italy and beyond that everyone wanted to play it. The program features two magnificent Corelli Sonatas, plus a Telemann Sonata composed in the style of Corelli, published in Paris, and a Bach fugue based on a theme by Corelli. Performers for the concert include Michael Lynn, classical flute; Barbara Weiss, harpsichord; Brittnee Siemon, mezzo-soprano; Jean Hein, baroque recorder; Mary Hostetler Hoyt, baroque violin; Erika Cutler, baroque violin; Hazel Ketchum, lute; Gail Ann Schroeder, viola da gamba; Cecilia Hoyt, cello; Jerry Curry, harpsichord.
