Christopher Berg: Classical Guitar
The Woman’s Afternoon Music Club of Sumter will present classical guitarist Christopher Berg in concert on Friday, Jan. 10 at 4:00 at Church of the Holy Comforter, 213 N. Main Street, Sumter. Tickets are $10 for the general public and free for students with ID. Christopher Berg directs the classical guitar program at the University of South Carolina. He is a concert and recording artist who has performed at such venues as Carnegie Hall, the Dame Myra Hess Center, and Merkin Hall, as well as at guitar festivals across the country. He is the author of several books on guitar technique and practices. The latest, The Classical Guitar Companion, will be released by Oxford University Press in November 2019. The Post and Courier described his playing as “a stellar display of guitar virtuosity.”
