Inspired by the history and positive impact of the Jenkins Institute, the Charleston Jazz Academy was established in June 2017 to cultivate the next generation of jazz artists.
With a variety of education and outreach programs (both at our physical location and in the community), we are excited to provide jazz music opportunities for students of all ages, all experience levels, and all backgrounds.
Charleston Jazz collaborates with Spoleto Festival USA to bring visiting artists to the Charleston Jazz Academy to speak to students or hold clinics

The North Charleston farmers market is open Thursdays from 12-7 p.m. in the center of Park Circle through the end of October. This peaceful market is the perfect place to meet a friend on your lunch break and get the fixin’s for a dinner to cook together.
There’s live music on the second and fourth Thursdays of the month and easy parking. On alternate Thursdays, enjoy demonstrations of painting, caricatures, silhouette art, and more. Vendors of crafts, jewelry, and artwork are encouraged to contact Belinda Swindler with the City of North Charleston for inclusion in the market.
