Columbia-area police continue search for Broadway performer, vehicle found at Congaree

from The State

Our apologies for hitting you with heavy content immediately, but this is important. Reporter Tiffany Tan shares that police are asking the Midlands to help find a Broadway artist from Columbia who has gone missing in the area. His car was found parked at Congaree National Park.

The family of Zelig Williams reported the 28-year-old missing on Oct. 4, a day after he left his mother’s house, where he’d been staying since returning from New York City. He told his mom good-bye as she sat on the porch, then got in his car and drove off.

“That was the last time we seen or heard from him,” said his aunt, Michelle Mclaughlin-Barber, who is serving as a family spokesperson. “This is definitely not usual.”

Writer Tiffany Coker at ColaDaily.com shares great news from a Columbia area charter school today.

“Many of you know we’re a Mandarin immersion school, but we’re also an ABC Arts Integration school, so we integrate the arts into our curriculum. So the idea that today we get to open a performing arts center, it’s a feat that we never thought we’d be able to do,” said East Point Head of School, Andrew Hart.
