Brown named “Woman of Influence”
But we already knew that? Glad everyone else knows now. Congratulations are in order for SCAC Artist Development Director Tanisha N. Brown. Yesterday, Columbia Regional Business Report named her among the 2024 “Women of Influence” in the Midlands. The awards “recognize and celebrate the accomplishments of women from various industries and sectors, including business, entrepreneurship, public service, education, and community engagement” while exhibiting “exceptional leadership, resilience and innovation.”

Art major component of bank HQ
United Community Bank recently opened the doors of a sparkling new headquarters in Greenville. The picturesque setting is certainly remarkable, but the bank was intentional about including art—some of which is available for public viewing. #SCArtists Jeanet Dreskin and Philip Mullen (and legacy artist Robert Mills) are included in the collection. UCB is a recent recipient of the Governor’s Award for the Arts, and SCAC Commissioner Flavia Harton‘s husband is Lynn Harton, the bank CEO and chairman. The Hartons took time recently to give a tour the SCAC’s Executive Director David Platts and Deputy Director Ce Scott-Fitts.
