State Library offers free grants information classes

The State Library announces three classes that are free and open to state employees, library staff and the public.

  • Grants Research: Finding a Funder for Your Nonprofit Organization (Note: this class is now full, but the library will place you on a waiting list.)
    March 20, 9:30am-noon
    This class assists individuals locate information on grants available from private foundations and corporations using the State Library’s electronic and print resources.
  • Proposal Writing Basics
    April 9 or May 22, 9:30am-noon
    This class will focus on what needs to be included in all your grant proposals.
  • Introduction to the Foundation Directory Online
    May 1, 9:30am-noon
    Includes basic and advanced search techniques for using the Foundation Center’s grants database to find potential funders for your nonprofit.

Classes will be held at the South Carolina State Library, 1500 Senate Street, Columbia.  To register, visit the State Library’s calendar of events at www.statelibrary.sc.gov.
