S.C. orchestra posts marketing, community engagement position

The Long Bay Symphony is hiring for their director of marketing and community engagement.
This is a full time position in Myrtle Beach with the following benefits: retirement plan, health insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, and paid vacation.
This position manages day-to-day office activities and is responsible for marketing that will create awareness of and promote the Long Bay Symphony and its programs within the Grand Strand community. This role also manages all community/educational initiatives for LBS.
Essential duties and responsibilities
Marketing
- Manage digital media for the symphony, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, website and email blasts;
- Issue approved press releases related to concerts and other symphony activities;
- Design graphics in Canva for concert programs and advertisements.
Community engagement
- Manage the “Musicians in the Schools” program. This includes working with the fine arts coordinator or comparable position in the Horry and Georgetown county school districts, contacting teachers for scheduling programs, scheduling musicians, attending the programs, and being responsible for all of the required reporting;
- Search for new grant opportunities as it relates to community outreach programs;
- Act as staff liaison to education committee of the LBS board of directors.
Additional activities
- Manage day-to-day office activities;
- Assist with ticket sales;
- Assist with ticket sales on-site prior to all LBS concerts;
- Follow the concert checklist and ensure all activities are completed within deadlines;
- Other activities that may be assigned by the executive director.
Minimum training and experience required/preferred
- Bachelor’s degree required;
- At least 1-3 years work related experience;
- Experience working in Canva preferred.
- Background in Art Administration, Education or Marketing preferred.

This position’s starting salary is $40,000-$45,000 based on experience. This full time position also offers a Simple IRA (with employer match), health plan, dental plan, and vision plan. This job posting will expire October 1, 2024.
