S.C. Arts Commission officially welcomes new programs staff

COLUMBIA, S.C. – The South Carolina Arts Commission recently welcomed two members to its program staff, serving in arts learning and public art initiatives across the state.

Headshot of Mikayla MooreMikayla Moore joins the SCAC as the arts learning coordinator and arts directory coordinator. She recently graduated from Indiana University with a master’s degree in arts administration and a master’s degree in public affairs. She received her bachelor’s degree in arts management from Ohio State University. Moore joins the arts learning department to coordinate and implement activities and administrative duties for Arts Grow SC. She provides consulting and technical assistance within assigned programmatic areas to constituents like grantees, schools, organizations, and partner entities.

 

Public Art Coordinator Harvee White is a public historian from Atlanta. She holds a bachelor’s degree in art history from Georgia State University and a master’s in public history as well as a museum studies certificate from the University of West Georgia. Her prior experience includes working in education and program management roles at History Cherokee (Canton, Georgia) and the Augusta (Georgia) Museum of History. She serves at the connection point of art, artists, and communities to build engagement and participation in public art. She also manages the South Carolina Cultural Districts program.

“I am happy to welcome Mikayla and Harvee to the Arts Commission team. They will bring fresh energy to our work on behalf of South Carolina’s K-12 students and teachers and artists, residents, and visitors. We know they will further our work in their respective service areas,” SCAC Executive Director David Platts said.
