New name, new policies for Richland Library

Above the circulation desk at Richland Library hangs a new sign reading “Checkout.”

It used to read “Circulation.”

The Reference section is now called News and Research. The digital media collection, which used to be called 1431 (the library’s address), is now called Film and Sound.

And until Monday, the library was called the Richland County Public Library.

It’s all part of a new rebranding campaign and set of policy changes and services rolled out this week by the county’s library system, all intended to increase access to library services.
