College of Charleston opens summer immersion program for high school students

Studio Art Summer Immersion at the College of Charleston is a unique, two-week intensive summer program offering local high school juniors and seniors with a strong demonstrated interest in studio art exposure to college-level studio art foundation classes.

From July 17-28, students will get experience working with local artist educators to produce works in mediums focused on drawing, painting, digital photos, and mixed media. Students walk away with portfolio-quality work and images for their college application and personal use. The program is the first of its kind in South Carolina and is centered on providing college-bound students with a dynamic summer experience in an arts-focused college setting, including outings and visits to local galleries and museums.
