Yvette Cummings “Remember Everything”
Artspace 506, in North Myrtle Beach, opens the Spring season with a solo exhibition of works by Yvette Cummings. “Remember Everything” is a body of work created by the artist that explores the long-term effects that childhood abuse and trauma has on the survivor. Cummings is particularly interested in “Mind-Body relationships” and how memories can be confronted in new ways. She writes,”In this body of work narratives are created with purposefully vague and discordant imagery to represent the effects time and distance have on memory. Memory, it is said, is never of the actual event, but a memory of the last time you recalled that event.” The exhibit opens on March 3 and continues through April 30. Artspace 506 is free and open Wednesday through Saturday 11 a.m. til 6p.m.
