Xenia Cord: Enrolled Upon the Bed: Name-Inscribed Quilts

Although quilt fads have come and gone, the idea of using name-inscribed quilts as a focus for personal, family, and community involvement has endured for nearly 200 years. The Horry County Museum presents “Enrolled Upon the Bed,” a free lecture by Xenia Cord,  February 20 at 1 PM.  This presentation looks at a variety of motivations for name-inscribed quilts. Attendees are invited to bring quilts on which names are inscribed, and to share these with the audience following the lecture. White cotton gloves or nitrile/latex gloves are requested for those handling quilts. Sponsored by the AVX Foundation and the Horry County Museum.
