Clemson University’s award-winning poets Jillian Weise [Vice-Uh] and Julia Koets [Coats] will read at Writers’ Harvest, a campus benefit for Loaves & Fishes and Paw Pantry November 14 at 7 p.m. in the Self Auditorium at Strom Thurmond Institute. Weise is a poet, performance artist, and disability rights activist, and the author of The Book of Goodbyes, winner of the prestigious James Laughlin Award in poetry. Koets’ first book, Hold Like Owls, won the 2011 South Carolina Poetry Book Prize. The reading will also feature fiction writer Dan Leach. The annual event is part of a national effort to end childhood hunger. To gain admission, a donation of canned goods or cash is accepted.
