“Woven Together: From Lesotho to Carolina”
“Woven Together: From Lesotho to Carolina,” an exhibit featuring the cut paper collages and mixed-media paintings of Mount Pleasant artists Lillian Trettin and Linda Elksnin opens on May 29 and will run through September 6 at the Hickory Museum of Art. The exhibit also includes tapestries woven by Maseru Tapestries Cooperative in Lesotho, Africa and photographs of the weavers by Carl Trettin. A “Meet the Artists Reception and Gallery Talk” will take place on Friday, May 29 from 6 until 8 p.m. The Hickory Museum of Art is located in the Arts & Science Center of the Catawba Valley, 243 3rd Avenue NE, Hickory, NC. Admission to the museum is free. A $5 donation is suggested for those attending the reception who are not members of the museum.
