Workshop – Flower Arranging: The Secret Language of Ikebana

The City of North Charleston Cultural Arts Department presents Flower Arranging: The Secret Language of Ikebana, August 4 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Olde Village Community Buildking. Ikebana, the art of Japanese flower arrangement, is considered an art form in its own right alongside painting and sculpture. It is a representation of the Japanese spiritual philosophy that stresses harmony between man and nature. Under the instruction of Kathy Huang, participants will complete two arrangements: one in the ikebana style and one in the free style. $40 fee is due with registration by August 1. Materials are included.
