Wild Fabrications and Nature’s Tapestries
The York County Museum presents two exhibitions – Wild Fabrications and Nature’s Tapestries – October 11th – February 26th. Organized by Studio Art Quilt Associates, Wild Fabrications features 38 art quilts created by textile artists from around the world. These stunningly vivid and masterfully crafted quilts feature nature themes, portraying animals both realistically and imaginatively in a riot of vibrant colors, patterns and textures. Nature’s Tapestries highlights local fiber artist Dottie Moore and her efforts to capture the myriad colors, textures, patterns and dimensionality of nature. For over 41 years, Moore has “stitched” together her love of nature and her artistic expression into quilted masterpieces. Admission $5- $8. Museum hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m, Tuesday – Saturday; 1 – 5 p.m. Sunday. Closed Monday.
