What Can Create a Print? Workshop
701 Center for Contemporary Art in Columbia offers the workshop What Can Create a Print? July 9 – 13 from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. This class — for ages 6-8 — will explore different printmaking techniques using recycled materials, with the final project being a personalized book. Students will learn the basic techniques of relief, monoprint and screenprinting, plus the chemistry of marbleizing and bookbinding using repurposed materials. Instructor Christy Aitken received her BFA in painting from the Atlanta College College of Art. She has taught homeschooled children ages 6-18 for 20 years. Members: $105; Non-members $120.
