West Side Story

GLOW Lyric Theatre presents Leonard Bernstein’s classic American musical “West Side Story” on July 29 at 8:00pm and July 30 at 2:00pm and 8:00pm at Furman University’s McAlister Auditorium. Based on one of the greatest love stories of all time – Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet – this intimate production changed the American musical theatre for ever after. Stage directed by Jenna Tamisiea, GLOW presents a powerful and poignant production with an electrifying Latin and jazz-infused score including such favorites as “Tonight,” “America.” “I Feel Pretty,” and “Somewhere.” Part of the GLOW Lyric Theatre 2016 Season from July 27-31, “West Side Story” joins Gounod’s opera “Roméo et Juliette” celebrating 400 years of Shakespeare.
