Warli Painting on Pots – Instruction by Jugnu Verma
Columbia Art Center offers Warli Painting on Pots August 25 from 1 – 3 p.m. Warli painting is a style of tribal art mostly created by the tribal people from the North Sahyadri Range in India. These rudimentary paintings use a set of basic geometric shapes: circle, triangle, and square. These shapes are symbolic of different elements of nature. The instructor, Jugnu Verma, is a folk artist from India. Registration fee of $40 is due by August 10. Fee includes instruction, all supplies and materials, and operating costs. Class size limited to minimum of 3 and maximum of 12.
