Waltz With Bashir

Coastal Carolina University’s Middle East Politics Film Series presents a screening of Ari Folman’s 2008 award-winning drama, Waltz with Bashir, February 6 at 5 p.m. at the Lib Jackson Student Union. Incorporating both animation and documentary filmmaking, the film is an examination of the discoveries and atrocities that occurred during the Lebanon War. Following the screening, Christopher Gunn, assistant professor of history, and Samih Baalbaki, instructor with CCU’s Osher Lifelong Learning Institute, lead a discussion on memory and repression within conflict and war. This film is in Hebrew with English subtitles and is rated R; viewer discretion is advised. Free.
