USC Symphony Orchestra: Carmina Burana
The USC Symphony Orchestra season boldly concludes with the energetic cantata Carmina Burana Thursday, April 20. Featuring over 200 performers from the UofSC Concert Choir, UofSC University Chorus and Children’s Choir of Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, this will be a season finale not to be missed! Soloists include Serena Laroche, soprano; Martin Bakari, tenor; and Edmund Milly, bass-baritone. Based on the 24 medieval poems of the same name, Carmina Burana explores life’s delights, unpredictability and excesses. Opening the concert is an energetic new work by British composer Anna Clyne entitled Pivot.
Join us at 6:45 p.m. in the Koger Center lobby for pre-concert talks with conductor Scott Weiss.
