USC Dance Company Fall Concert
The USC Dance Company will present a mixed repertory of timeless classics and contemporary works November 16 – 17 at the Koger Center for the Arts. Featured will be George Balanchine’s Walpurgisnacht, staged by Stacey Calvert, as well as three new works. Suite of Old American Dances, by American composer Robert Russell Bennett, will be turned into a new choreographic work by Heather Stokes. Conductor Cormac Cannon will lead the USC Symphonic Winds in this piece. The event will also feature a world premiere by Associate Professor Thaddeus Davis, recipient of the Choo San Gho choreographic award, as well as a tribute to Martha Graham by visiting guest artist Miriam Barbosa. Tickets $15-$22.
