Under the Impression: an Exhibition of Work by Elissa Frankino
The Fine Arts Department at the University of South Carolina Beaufort will present “Under the Impression,” an exhibition of work by Elissa Frankino, at the Sea Islands Center Gallery on the university’s Historic Beaufort campus. The exhibition will open with a public reception from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on September 4th and be on display through October 3rd. Elissa Frankino is known for her meticulous craftsmanship and original designs. In her work, she explores the impact of scale while also using a variety of materials including but not limited to precious metals. Her ‘catch and release’ process captures the textures of our environment and brings them into the realm of conscious attention. Ms. Frankino earned a MFA in metalworking and jewelry from the Savannah College of Art and Design.
