Traditional Music Symposium: Shared Traditions: Sacred Music in the South
The University of South Carolina’s McKissick Museum will host Shared Traditions: Sacred Music in the South, February 26th and 27th in Columbia. The music symposium will feature live performances, a panel session, presentations, and music workshops. Shared Traditions will start with a welcome reception and meet & greet with Gullah storyteller Anita Singleton-Prather, February 26th at 3:30pm, followed at 4pm by a curator-led Tour of the exhibition Heard at Every Turn: Traditional Music in South Carolina. All Shared Traditions programs are free. Co-sponsored by the USC School of Music and Brookland Baptist Church.
