Nancy Strickland Chavis, Director and Curator of the Museum of the Southeast American Indian at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke, presents a discussion of the curatorial process and exhibition experience surrounding the exhibit To Take Shape and Meaning: Form and Design in Contemporary American Indian Art held at the North Carolina Museum of Art in 2024. This blockbuster exhibition authentically explored Native identity, culture, and art through the voices of over 90 of America’s most acclaimed artists from across the United States.
