What does it mean to be Southern in today’s world? Alabama Shakespeare Festival hosts The State of the South: Columbia July 13 at Trustus Theatre in Columbia. Through one-on-one interviews, group story circles, and town halls, the State of the South creative team seeks to answer: Who is the South? What is the South? Where is the South? This one-hour discussion is hosted in a safe, inclusive space. People from all walks of life and of all shapes, sizes, colors, and capabilities are welcome. Participants will share stories and their definitions of the South, and help rewrite the assumptions of the South. Free.
