The Palmetto Mastersingers: “Feast, Fast and Frolic” – Savannah
Thanksgiving, Hanukkah, and Christmas follow in quick succession in late November and December, and there’s the first day of winter as well. It’s the change of themes and seasons, a time of reflection, devotion, parties—and music. The Palmetto Mastersingers celebrate these occasions with “Feast, Fast and Frolic,” a wide-ranging program including traditional Christmas songs “Ave Maria” and “O Holy Night,” spirituals such as “My Lord What a Mornin,’” the Israeli folk song “Hava Nageela,” Aaron Copland’s boisterous hoedown, “Stomp Your Foot,” and more. Performances begin at 7:30 p.m. November 22nd at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Columbia, November 23rd at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church in Columbia; and at 5pm December 8th at First Presbyterian Church in Savannah. Tickets are available online, from any Mastersinger, or at the door.
