The Magic Flute at Furman

Furman Lyric Theatre offers two performances of Mozart’s opera, The Magic Flute, February 25th and 27th in McAlister Auditorium, on campus in Greenville. This whimsical fairy-tale is one of the jewels of the operatic stage, accessible to adults and children of all ages. Tamino, on an adventure to save the Queen of the Night’s daughter, Pamina, from the grip of the evil Sarastro, learns a higher truth: Sarastro is actually good, and, guided by him through a series of physical trials, Tamino and Pamina gain the light of knowledge. Sung in English, directed by Grant Knox, and accompanied by the Furman Symphony Orchestra conducted by Thomas Joiner.
