The BIG BAND Theory – U.S. Army 282nd Band 2015 Holiday Concert in Greenville
The U.S. Army 282nd Band will usher in the Holiday season with a combination of jazz & classical music styles in The BIG BAND Theory, December 8 at 7pm in McAlister Auditorium, on the campus of Furman University in Greenville. This free concert is hosted by Major General Robert L. Cloutier Jr. The 282d Army Band has various performing groups. The Concert Band’s repertoire consists of contemporary and popular literature, solo features with band accompaniment, classical transcriptions, and novelty numbers. The Stage Band performs standard swing, jazz, blues, Latin, and rock styles. The Jazz Combo, Brass Quintet, and Dixieland Band are versatile groups that perform for a multitude of programs and ceremonies. And the Marching Band, the most visible of all, performs standard military marches weekly.
