Sweetgrass Basket Class

Coastal Discovery Museum on Hilton Head Island offers a Sweetgrass Basket class September 7 – November 30. Participants will learn about the history of the Sweetgrass basket, one of the Lowcountry’s best known art forms, from a local 7th generation Gullah basket maker and start making a basket using locally found natural materials. Classes are held on select Saturdays from 10:30 am until 12:30 pm. Cost is $65 per person and reservations are required by calling 843-689-6767 ext. 223.
