String Quartet at Hiroshima Peace Vigil

A string quartet from the South Carolina Philharmonic (Morihiko Nakahara, Music Director) will be featured at A Hiroshima Peace Vigil, Thursday, August 6th, on the 70th anniversary of the dropping of the first atomic bomb on Hiroshima, Japan. The Vigil will be held from 7 to 8 pm in the Columbia Museum of Art Auditorium, 1515 Main Street. The event is the 25th year that a vigil has been held in Columbia to remember the first use of the atomic bomb and to promote efforts to work for nuclear disarmament. The Vigil is part of First Thursday on Main and is free. Sponsored by the Columbia Friends Meeting of the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers) and by Carolina Peace Resource Center.
